Glykof is indicated for all kinds of coughs especially that related to pharyngitis, Bronchitis and Bronchial asthma. Ingredients of Glykof not only find place in the classical texts of Ayurveda but have also been extensively studied on the modern scientific parameters. Shudh Madhu (honey )when used as amn extract in cough mixtures, has shown effective antimicrobial activity on the upper respiratory tract bacterial pathogens. Yashtimadhu (Glycyrrhiza glabra) /Liquorice is a demulcent. The expectorant effect of liquorice benefits patients suffering from asthma or chest congestion. Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) extracts have been found effective in decreasing symptoms of allergic rhinitis. Vasak (Adhotoda vasica ) is an expectorant used to treat cough asthma and bronchitis It has effective antitussive activity.
